I used this recipe for my first roast and take used information technology religiously since. My only advice would exist to sentinel your cooking fourth dimension. My roasts take always been done betwixt v-vi hours (on depression) and they come up out very tender. Overall, a very easy and tasteful recipe.
02/27/2002
I don't know what some of these people are talking virtually - this was a peachy roast! You may desire to add some more than spices, but that'south not rocket science. I added a litte bit of garlic, a sprinkle of garlic table salt, basis pepper and extra onion flakes. My young man and I loved it - it was a squeamish brownish color, and the aroma filled the firm when I came home. I volition be using this recipe over and over.
12/30/2010
This is good made as directed, but I felt it needed a lilliputian more flavor / complication. I use a larger roast (five lbs) rubbed with salt, pepper, garlic, dredged in flour (to thicken the gravy later) and seared in olive oil. For the liquid... beef broth, and I add a few big splashes of carmine wine (nigh half a cup). Too put in onion, fresh minced garlic, a couple of rosemary sprigs and a tsp of coriander seeds. Cooked carrots with the roast, just potatoes separately (roasted potatoes, as I don't like everything to gustatory modality the same or to exist besides mushy.) YUMMO!
02/13/2003
This has to be the easiest fashion to make pot roast. I volition brown my meat before placing in the crock pot and the deglaze the pan with the beefiness broth. After I take all the meat and vegetables out I will thicken the gravy with a little corn starch and water. It is every bit as practiced every bit a roast cooked in the oven.
03/15/2008
Wow harsh review, I think at that place may take been something incorrect with your cooker or something because I cant imagine the veggies being raw after hours and hours of slow cooking, just hope you find the recipe your looking for! As far as my feel with the recipe, I tweaked it a little for my ain taste. I used goop instead of buillion and water, and I used a lot of it because I dearest the soupy gravy. I added the potatoes in half manner through cooking so they wouldnt exist mush, they were perfect! Added probably more veggies than recommended and some actress seasoning (garlic, tonys). Merely overall I just loved it! cheers for the recipe!
12/19/2002
This was my offset pot roast always and I was pretty apprehensive... only it turned out great! I prepared information technology co-ordinate to the directions with the following modifications: I sliced three carrots instead of using baby carrots, replaced the onion with a packet of dry onion soup mix, and used three/4 cup of water instead of ane/two cup. I cooked information technology on low for a lilliputian over 8 hours. The meat was and so tender and then full of flavor. Plus, it passed the ultimate examination: my married man loved it and even had seconds! Next fourth dimension I'm going to add a can of cream of mushroom soup to make a thicker gravy. Great recipe!
10/03/2001
As newlyweds and new to cooking this was THE EASIEST and the best recipe......i recollect tonite was the first fourth dimension we ate a real meal before 7PM and done by eight!!! Using the Advice from the previous reviews i added the xtra 1/iv loving cup of water, bay foliage, and too browned it earlier putting in the crock......It turned out very nicely and my inlaws idea it was succulent!!! I fabricated gravy from the crock pot juices by adding flour, table salt, pepper and some onion pulverisation all to gustatory modality.........YUM!!!!
10/23/2008
This was an incredible recipe. It pulled autonomously, the vegetables were not mushy and the gravy was so good. My boyfriend ate the babe carrots (he hates carrots) and even wanted to take it to work the next mean solar day! Here is what I did the nighttime before...I cut the potatoes, onions and used babe carrots. I heavily seasoned them with garlic salt, seasoning salt, pepper and Lipton onion soup mix and put it at the bottom of my crock pot. (I have a removable dish.) I seasoned the outside of the roast with garlic salt, seasoning salt and pepper until it was completely covered with seasoning and browned the outside with some butter. I dissolved the 3 beef boullion cubes with one cup of humid water and added information technology to the top of the veggies and then I put the roast on top of that and covered information technology with the top. I stuck the whole matter in the frig to marinate over night. The adjacent forenoon I only took it out of the frig, plop the dish in and plow on the crock pot for 8 hours on low. FANTASTIC..my bestfriend and my boyfriend were raving about it! I'm making it for Thanksgiving in addition to the turkey. :)
09/10/2002
From someone (me) who's recipes ordinarily plough out terrible, this was TRULY the easiest, best tasting roast I accept always made!! I followed the suggestions of others, and flavored information technology with additional spices to fit our tastes and added some additional water, and it was but wonderful!!
08/20/2002
If you're looking for fast and easy this is the recipe for yous! I recommend adding more spices if you want more than flavour, overall good recipe.
02/09/2011
This was very easy, and was exactly what I was looking for... I over cooked mine then information technology was a little dry and put too much beefiness bullion in so it was a scrap salty, but if I wasn't contending with that it would definitely be 4 stars! Adding to my recipe box now...
01/xv/2010
This is a classic Crock Pot - Pot Roast recipe. If y'all read the instructions with a Crock Pot, it e'er says to put the vegetables on the lesser - they take the longest to melt. I have NEVER browned my roast before cooking. I would venture to approximate that if your roast did non plough out with this recipe - information technology had more to do with the class of meat you used than the recipe. Ane other hint - always utilize a recipe as a base of operations - and then add the seasonings that you and your family savour.
01/02/2011
Suprisingly very expert. I added 2 c water, 1/4 c red cooking wine, ane T onion pulverization, 1 T minced garlic, ane/4 tsp garlic pepper, 1/2 tsp garlic and herb grill mate. Plus, I used vi potatoes and virtually two c carrots.
12/07/2002
Yummy! I cut my roast in one-half just in example it wasn't a good recipe and I was so distressing, because I wished I had cooked the whole thing! My son loved it and had seconds. I added more h2o than called for and added seasonings that I enjoy. I besides (at the stop) added some cornstarch to thicken the juice into gravy. It was very delicious.
12/28/2010
I decided to brand a pot roast for Christmas dinner, then I went searching for slow cooker recipes. Well-nigh everything I came beyond called for dry onion soup mix which I did not take. Then I found this recipe and decided to requite information technology a try. It came out perfect!! I didn't have any celery and used regular carrots instead of babe, but everything else was the same. I wouldn't modify a matter nearly this recipe. I cooked my roast on high for 5 hours and it came out super tender and the taste was spectacular. I will only be making my roast this fashion from now on.
10/xvi/2007
I admittedly LOVED this recipe! I used Beef Middle of Round Roast and left the celery whole (that way I could remove it earlier serving since some of my guests don't similar the texture). The scent filled our kitchen and was pleasing to everyone! It will definitely exist used once more and again!!
10/24/2008
a great, easy manner to make pot roast. This is how I brand my roasts every time. If you tin can, don't put the potatoes in until halfway through the cooking fourth dimension. If you exit them in the entire time, they'll turn to mush.
11/10/2007
Gets my highest vote for ease and yum gene. I beloved garlic & added quite a chip. I cooked this for approx 10 hours on depression. Put it in the fridge overnight. I think things cooked in the crock-pot taste improve warmed upwardly the next day. It was delish. Thank you!
eleven/30/2006
This is how my mom used to exercise information technology and I practise love this recipe. I have tweaked it over the years, I add a bundle of Lipton Onion soup mix, ii cups of reddish wine and iii cloves of garlic.
02/06/2011
This was by far the best pot roast I've e'er made, and it was quite piece of cake to practise. Much better than anything my mother ever made. I made one modify, though, and I HIGHLY recommend it. My married woman doesn't similar celery, and so in lieu of that, I used a large stalk & root of fennel. The results were spectacular. The texture remains somewhat close to celery, but it infuses the whole dish with a light anise flavor. Slap-up dish, piece of cake to make... don't forget the fennel.
11/12/2007
Keen recipe!! My hubby loved and so did I. I used 2 cubes, 1 packaged dry onion soup, potatoes, carrots and onions. I put about 1-1/12 cups of water. The meat was melting and it felt I was cutting butter. I wasn't even able to go it out of the crockpot to cut because it was falling apart. Perfect. Thank you so much!!
01/thirteen/2008
i followed directions down to the t, but it turned out and then dry i couldnt even swallow a little test piece. i dont know where i went wrong
01/05/2011
Nosotros did not like this roast at all. I put in all my ingredients as the recipe says and then put in the one/2 cup of water. I knew as before long equally I poured it in that it wasn't going to be enough liquid but I let it go anyways, trusting everyone elses reviews. I was so disappointed when I got home and found my roast still sitting on top of the potatoes, not liquid around it. I ended up adding 3 cups of water and 3 more bullion cubes, merely for some "juice". I volition not exist making this again. :(
01/23/2008
I love this pot roast! My husband thinks its great likewise
08/01/2008
I did this last nighttime, july 31st 2008. It was the easiest and best I've had. I just had surgery three days ago. I needed something that wouldn't take alot of my fourth dimension.I am nevertheless recouping. WOW!!!! It was easy for me to do, it was smell i enjoyed all day long, and the family loved it! what meliorate mode to still cook(cuz i wanted to) and not be over worked as I heal! The only difference was I too added beef broth and garlic spices instead of the water. Otherwise YUM YUM YUM!!!! Thank Y'all
12/21/2010
Very good. I put in potatoes, carrots and celery and it turned out very well. I did have to cook mine almost 6 hours on high. Depends on your crock pot
01/11/2011
First pot roast that I've tasted in years that was this succulent! I took the advice about the vino and the goop rather than bouillon. All loved it:)
07/15/2011
I use beef goop and fresh green beans instead of celery. Even with different cuts of roast, information technology always turns out hearty and satisfying, whether nosotros swallow information technology with gravy or in a pot pie. Very like shooting fish in a barrel, nutritious meal. I like to add salt, pepper, and garlic powder to my roast and some worcestshire sauce to the broth/water.
11/02/2010
I added 1/2 cup red wine and beef broth instead of the water. Likewise added a bay leaf and browned the roast before I put it in the crock pot. Added peas last hour of cooking because we love peas! Enjoy.
09/07/2002
Tasteless. Brothy. There must be pot roast better than this.
02/twenty/2007
Was a expert recipe. But I added the iii cloves of garlic, used the Lipton Onion Soup mix instead of the bullion. Too added the water & a loving cup or 2 of reddish wine. Added mushrooms, celery, & carrots in the terminal couple of hours. Cooked 1 hour on loftier & about 5.5 on low.
01/10/2016
This is basically the recipe I've used for years and you tin't beat it. For those of you thinking there should exist more flavor try adding 1/2 to 1 bundle of Lipton Onion Soup mix. I unremarkably apply beef goop instead of bouillon cubes. The juices make an excellent gravy. What really bothers me on these roast beef recipes is it is rarely mentioned which cut of beefiness is used. I stick with a chuck roast as I tin depend on it being fall apart tender and having a rich flavour. I've never had much luck with rump roasts (non certain what they call them today) and don't know how that would work in a recipe like this even though it'due south in slow cooker.
10/17/2009
I but read all the reviews for this recipe. The people who gave it a low rating must non know how to tweak a recipe. For the potatoes I used pocket-size cherry-red ones cut in half. I don't employ bullion cubes, I use "Herb Ox" Instant bullion powder - 1 tsp per cup of water. Earlier I brown the meat I dredge it in flour mixed with rosemary, sea salt, pepper and granulated garlic - that slowly thickens as it cooks to make the gravy. Again the amounts of the spices depends on your taste buds. Lastly, I cook information technology i hour on high and six - 8 hours on depression testing the veggies afterwards 6 hours. For an added kicking put a 12 oz bottle of "Killian'southward Irish Red" beer in after iv hours on low. The beer has plenty of time to loose the alcohol that way but you however accept the season of the Killian's. This recipe is a great one it all comes downwards to personal preference and gustatory modality buds.
03/01/2009
This was really good. I put the veggies on top of the meat because I like the meat to be falling apart tender. I made it both ways (veggies on top and bottom of meat) and I prefer veggies on superlative.
01/20/2011
My pot roast turned out drier than expected. I used the three/4 c. of water that was suggested in the reviews, but it was still dry out. I think part of the problem is that I set the meat on top of the veg like it said to do, and that prevented the meat from being immersed in the liquid. Side by side time I volition prepare the meat in the pot and put the veg effectually it, and I too won't put the potatoes in until a few hours into cooking b/c they were totally obliterated. I added a small-scale corporeality of dry out onion soup mix every bit suggested every bit well. The taste was bully, it was just also dry.
03/24/2005
I used this recipe for my starting time pot-roast always, and my married man and friends loved it so much I take to melt information technology at lease once a week now!
01/26/2011
Piece of cake and AMAZING! I didn't add together the potatoes (made mashed potatoes instead), added ii bay leaves, a sprinkle of garlic pulverization, and upped the water to 1 cup. In one case finished cooking, I used the cooking liquid to make gravy. Adding this to the weekly rotation!
11/ten/2002
This is an easy, standard roast beefiness recipe. Y'all should spice it up nonetheless you desire. One note for me, though, I cook this on low for 12 hours and practise not need to add boosted liquid and it turns out tender and perfect.
05/27/2010
I did everything as instructed.. I am lamentable only this is not good at all. I gave information technology one star because the meat and vegetables were tender but the boullion taste was overwhelming and there is no real substanance to the gravy.. merely watery, fat.
07/13/2008
This was good for my showtime roast. It ended upwardly very tender and pulled apart easily. I will add the veggies later next time as they ended up existence mush and add some more spices every bit well. This recipe is first-class to try once more and again until y'all have it tweaked to your liking! I am giving this recipe a solid four stars for coming out moist and tender but not 5 stars as the veggies came out fashion overcooked and it was a little on the bland side spice wise. A keen basic roast recipe!
09/03/2010
This actually is the easiest matter I've always made and one of the all-time. I used low sodium beef goop instead of bouillon, added some minced garlic and Worcestershire sauce for flavor and it was wonderful.
10/27/2006
This was a great dinner to come up domicile to tonight, it's cold and rainy out. The meat came out very tender and very flavorful. I've been using the McCormick seasoning for pot roasts, and those are pretty good but wanted to try something different and didn't want to worry nearly preservitives or additives in seasonings. Cheers for the swell recipe!
03/04/2005
The flavor was good but my roast came out very dry. I think the roast should be browned first, putting it in the crock pot raw made the veggies on the bottom await grey and almost unappetizing. Then having the beef cubes on top made dark spots on the roast. It tasted improve than information technology looked. I call up I will proceed looking for a crock pot roast recipe.
02/12/2008
Very Good! I used less onion, added garlic powder and used 1 cup of water instead of 1/2cup. This was my first pot roast so I was actually nervous...but it turned out great. My married man and I loved it!
11/fourteen/2011
I am not sure what happened, merely I followed it to the T and it was banal and dry. This is the showtime highly rated recipe from this site that did not live upward to the reviews. I accept a new crock pot, and then that wasn't the issue. Won't make once more.
12/05/2000
I browned the roast beginning and added about 1/four cup more than water in the crockpot. The roast was tender and juicy. Information technology tasted even better the next twenty-four hours.
06/21/2000
Melt this roast on loftier for at to the lowest degree 6 hours, cooking it on low dries the meat out quite a bit. We didn't find information technology banal at all. I would have to attempt the proffer of browning it first for a more asthetic appeal.
01/23/2004
The roast was a little dry out. I put the meat on the lesser and information technology was ameliorate.
04/19/2010
Delicious!
04/04/2008
This recipe turned out great! I made a few modest adjustments to it such every bit; i used beefiness broth, cream of mushroom soup, and dry out onion soup mix. This was my first fourth dimension making pot roast always & information technology worked out well!!
11/06/2010
I made my first pot roast yesterday and decided to add a heaping TBSP of horseradish mustard AND some dill weed. OMG! It turned out so good! I seared the meat, then put it bated. I then started the broth and vegies on the stove in a dutch oven and as shortly equally information technology was simmering, I put the roast in and shoved it to the lesser. Cooked in the oven for 2 hours at 350, then one hour at 250...YUM!!!
11/11/2001
This pot roast just wasn't that great. The roast was done far earlier than expected and before the vegetables were set. The laying of bullion cubes on the roast left areas with heavy seasoning and some with petty. The roast itself was very dry. If I were to use this recipe again, I would start the vegetables before, and rub a lite coating of beefiness bullion all over the roast and then add together an hour after the vegetables were started.
01/11/2004
Very basic pot roast recipe. Having read the other reviews that said "bland," first I rubbed the meat with salt, pepper, and thyme. I also added garlic, saccharide, worcestershire sauce forth with veggies and seasonings. Finally I thickened the gravy with corn starch. Using the skillful quality of meat, this recipe got proficient reviews from my family.
09/20/2003
I have ordinarily ruined roast beef, thus have not tried very many roast recipes. This was very easy and was really tender and tasty. My husband actually liked this. I had some left over onion soup mix already mixed with water in the fridge so used that and used but 2 boullion cubes. I strained the dried onions from the soup mix and used an onion as per the recipe. I also sprinkled a little majoram over the meat. I used more water every bit others have suggested (lilliputian more than a cup including liquid from soup mix) and had lots of delicious gravy. Next time I will endeavour using a little corn starch to thicken it.
11/15/2009
Bully recipe! I used a rib roast and here'due south how I tweaked it: I added a garlic and rosemary rub, a bay leafage, and used beef broth instead of cubes. From my feel with my crockpot, I e'er use yellow flesh potatoes and cut any veggies into Large chunks (double or triple the size that I use when boiling or roasting). This keeps the veggies from getting too mushy after 6 hours of cooking. I cooked on low for 6 hours and everything turned out good, but next fourth dimension I'll cheque it after five.five hours because the roast seemed a tiny chip over done.
11/fifteen/2011
Very expert. I placed veggies on top of roast. Added more water than called for, and used flour to turn into a gravy. I also placed a bay leaf into crock pot while cooking. Thought maybe it needed a piffling more flavour, but overrall very tasty. I volition brand this over again.
03/xvi/2011
Very easy simply standard fair. Calculation garlic and red wine as suggested by other reviewers is definitely recommended. I besides added a few splashes of low sodium soy sauce which enhances the colour too as flavor.
01/29/2011
Super like shooting fish in a barrel, but I found that all of the ingredients wouldn't actually fit in my crock pot. Then, I had to take several large spoonfuls of the potatoes and carrots out to fit in all the meat. I'thousand not a huge cherry-red meat fan, so I don't think I would make this all the time. But for a pot roast, it was pretty skillful.
02/12/2001
If you have the time this receipe is ever better if you brown the meat outset and add some more seasoning, similar a bay leaf.
02/02/2003
This was an amazing recipe! I have butchered many-a-roast, only this ane was so elementary, and turned out to exist the best I have had yet! I too stabed random holes in the meat earlier cooking, and filled them with garlic. Thanks for sharing this recipe! My whole family thanks y'all! :o)
08/fourteen/2004
I added a parcel of Lipton Onion Soup Mix to the 1/ii cup of water and turned the meat frequently. It added not bad flavor. I omitted the celery(hate it with roast) and also the boullion (who needs information technology with the Lipton Onion Soup Mix?). Used red bliss potatoes. Piece of cake. Practiced. Pretty standard way to make roast in a crock pot.
09/10/2007
This was definitely easy. I fabricated the post-obit modifications according to what I had on hand: 2 lbs roast, 3 carrots, i celery stick & 4 potatoes. I let mine cook for four hours, but information technology was quite dry out. This was my first roast, so I was leery of calling it done early; but I call back it was done afterwards 3 1/ii hours.
01/27/2008
Very Easy to make!! It had good flavors simply I also added garlic, pepper, common salt, and a petty red wine. I used 2 cups of water and this helped keep the meat tender. This is my commencement time making it in the crock pot, then I changed the cooking times a piffling. I just watched it and took it out at about six hours on low and cooking the last 60 minutes on high. Information technology was very piece of cake and yummy!
01/04/2009
This recipe is very easy and very good. I did not use celery - I didn't have any. I added table salt and pepper, and used liquid bouillon concentrate instead of cubes, considering that's what I had on hand. I cooked in on loftier and it was done in less than 4 hours. This is the best mode to melt a roast.
09/10/2008
Wonderful! Unproblematic! My business firm smells astonishing! Merely added a bit more h2o and used about 3.5 lbs middle of round beefiness and followed exact recipe....YUM....volition be making again and again.
10/26/2010
This was my 1st pot roast and it was fabulous! My husband was completely impressed! I followed the recipe most exactly, only I seared the beef (adding salt & pepper) before I put information technology in the crock pot and I added mushrooms and smashed whole clove garlic. So piece of cake!
10/18/2010
Very skilful an easy. We used 2 cans of beef broth instead of the bouillon and water and added many garlic cloves. Likewise, add together more than veggies if you like them.
02/01/2003
Very easy!! very proficient!!!
03/xix/2010
gonna make this tonight..I'll tell ya how information technology goes
11/09/2008
Excellent. I followed directions exactly until I added fifteen crushed ginger snaps an 60 minutes before it was done. It thickens the gravy and tastes awesome.
01/31/2005
loved the recipe but instead of h2o and beef boullion i only added a tin can of beef broth.
01/x/2002
Although this recipe was quick, easy, and kid friendly, it turned out awful! The chief reason was that information technology was bland. Everything just tasted like beefiness broth, with not much other flavor. Yuck!
12/31/2001
I like this recipe because information technology's simple, nonetheless produces a delicious complete repast. That's the best I await from a recipe!
06/29/2010
My boyfriend gave this a 5, but I'one thousand giving it a 4 since I felt similar something was defective, regarding flavor. Also, the pot roast was a little dry, then I feel like in that location should take been more water in the recipe.
02/12/2002
This was delicious and easy. The roast merely melts in your mouth.
12/08/2009
Good Recipe, If yous add 3/4 of a tin can of coca cola it is a great Recipe. Except for the yellow corn. no where does it say open can and put in shallow pan on low heat. I don't get the corn thing. The coca cola fox is from grandma Bessie. She made fantabulous pot Roast.
11/29/2008
The reason I gave this 4 stars is b/c I had to add A LOT of seasoning to get it to taste how I wanted. I did fresh rosemary, salt, flavour salt, pepper and about 1/4 cup lea and perrins. Adjacent time I would also sear it first to lock the juices in. It got a little dry at 7 hours.
08/13/2008
This was so easy and and so good. I fabricated this on my tiffin interruption and it was ready to eat when I got dwelling house! I used 1 cup beef broth instead of the h2o. I too rubbed some salt, pepper, garlic table salt, and onion powder into the roast earlier cooking equally well as sprinkling over the potatos.
07/26/2002
It really is easy.
08/05/2007
Really good! I added 5-6 cloves of garlic and I seared the roast and deglazed the pan before putting in the wearisome cooker. Information technology came out really tender and the vegetable'south tasted wonderful.
12/17/2006
This was wonderful! I did leave the clery whole, then I could take the flavor so remove it when serving(my family doesn't similar cerely) or so they recall. I do that quite often. They don't heed the taste, merely the texture. Anyway, thanks for this recipe.
02/13/2010
Very easy to make, I used garlic powder, italian seasoning salt and pepper and it was perfect..also yous should utilise 1 cup of water. Even with a 3 pound chuck roast it needed more water than a half cup. Very piece of cake..very good. will make again.,
07/13/2003
Definately like shooting fish in a barrel! I made this when nosotros had some friends over for dinner and it turned out bang-up. I did put besides many potatoes in it and I added extra carrots simply information technology was succulent. I should have added more water for the extra veggies so I could accept fabricated gravy but it was however fantastic!
12/27/2001
Delicious and very easy pot roast. Tastes wonderful!
09/23/2002
I honey a simple receipe, and this one is unproblematic!
01/24/2011
Excellent and like shooting fish in a barrel. Used additional spices/flavorings and liquid as suggested by other reviewers.
03/20/2014
This is a terrific, easy-to-practise recipe for pot roast. I love the simplicity, particularly for my higher-age daughters and parents who are rushing out the door to work in the morning. While I appreciate the many "reviews" of the recipe, in fact nigh folks are completely rewriting the recipe. One of the "near helpful critical reviews" adds ix additional ingredients! That's not a review, that's another recipe altogether! Submit information technology as such, please!
09/30/2008
Turned out great, I seared the roast and added a little minced garlic and more water. Side by side time I will endeavour the beef broth instead.
10/eleven/2010
My first time making a pot roast & it was very expert! My vii twelvemonth old fifty-fifty liked the meat & he's not a big meat eater. I did make a couple adjustments based on reviews....I did a rub of Montreal steak seasoning, seared it 3-5 minutes on each side, & added some minced garlic, common salt & pepper to the veggies. I used a 3 pound arm roast & it only took 5 hours on low. Seems like my crock pot never takes as long as recipes say though....good thing I was watching information technology! Highly recommend this recipe!
09/15/2015
I changed the water to root beer. Gave it a prissy sugariness flavour. Super tender!!
12/22/2009
Overall, it'due south a very adept tasting roast...especially beingness and so piece of cake to prepare! I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because it really was lacking spices (in addition to the burgoo, I likewise used garlic powder, bay leaves, whole peppercorns, vegeta, and rubbed on a piddling scrap of Mrs. Dash garlic & herbs sprinkle) and also because I think it needs virtually iv times as much h2o as stated..Mine came out a fiddling dry, simply I blame myself for not watching it frequently enough (my first time using my mother's slow-cooker. I guess hers cooks faster).
06/09/2008
This is the all-time pot roast I've ever eaten! Here are the changes I fabricated: I omitted the potatoes and used 2 roasts increasing the boullion cubes to 5, increased the water to 1 cup, sprinkled a bit of seasoning salt over both roasts and spread i 1/two tblsp of A1 steak sauce over the top roast. This is definitely a recipe I will brand time and time again!
01/10/2016
Certainly an piece of cake recipe. After reading reviews about cooking time and seasoning I have a few comments. Attempt browning the roast first in a hot pan with a little oil. Then season with salt and pepper. You can also add garlic and other herbs you like. I prefer to utilize tyme. If y'all like more salt and seasoning, I add together an onion soup mix poured over the roast. The bigger your roast, the more seasoning it needs. Finally on the cooking time, the longer it cooks the more it volition pull apart and shred. If you prefer to slice information technology, you lot tin remove information technology when still firm to bear upon. We always let ours cook slowly and for a long fourth dimension. Pull information technology apart and lightly chop. And so back in crock pot with all the veggies and juices. Thanks and skillful luck!
